Delicious Chocolate Cake
Here’s for all those who didn’t get a chance to try the chocolate cake I got for my birthday. By now, it’s already long gone. This delicious chocolate cake naturally contains lots of chocolate as well as cacao powder and even chocolate pudding powder, to make sure it’s chocolaty enough. It tastes fabulous! I suppose it’s quite cruel to withhold the recipe, so here it is:
Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
| metric | emperial | |
|---|---|---|
| butter | 200 g | 0.83 cup |
| chocolate | 200 g | 7.14 oz. |
| chocolate crumbs | 100 g | 3.57 oz. |
| powdered sugar | 130 g | 1.28 cup |
| eggs | 4 | 4 |
| chocolate pudding powder | 45 g | 1.60 oz. |
| cacao powder | 2 tbsp. | 2 tbsp. |
| flour | 2 tbsp. | 2 tbsp. |
The recipe requires both some chocolate to be molten and some chocolate crumbs to be added to the mix later on. That’s why they’re mentioned separately in the list of ingredients. To get those chocolate crumbs, you could simply put some chocolate in the blender to get the necessary amount. It’s up to you to decide for pure chocolate or milk-chocolate bars. The cake shown in the picture was made using pure chocolate.
Instructions
Preparation time is about 15 minutes. Preheat the oven at 175 °C (that is 347 °F).
Chop the chocolate to be molten into uniform pieces (to ensure even melting) and melt them together with the butter in a pot on the stove at low temperature (to avoid scorching or burning) while stirring the mixture well and ensure that it is completely smooth. Take it off the stove when completely molten to let it cool down a bit.
Beat the eggs and powdered sugar (confectioners’ sugar) together for a couple of minutes until you get a nice creamy mixture. Add the molten butter and chocolate and stir very carefully. Then add the chocolate crumbs and stir again.
Mix the flour, cacao powder and chocolate pudding powder together in a small bowl. Then add them to the mixture as well. Stir as long as needed until there are no flour clumps visible anymore.
Pour the dough carefully in a well-greased spring form cake pan and bake in the preheated oven at 175 °C (that is 347 °F) for 20 to 25 minutes. Then take it out and let it cool down before trying to get it out of the form, because the cake is not at all firm when coming right out of the oven.
Enjoy the cake! It tastes great when still slightly warm, but also when completely cooled down.
